Formatting headings and titles in the style guide wizard

Formatting headings here will ensure that all headings are formatted consistently throughout your document; irrespective of how long it is.

Follow these steps

  1. Click "Assets" on the navigation panel
  2. Click "Presets" on the sidebar
  3. Double click on the style you wish to edit and the wizard will open
  4. Use the sidebar to navigate to the "Headings & Titles" element you wish to change
  5. Click on the heading series tab you wish to edit
  6. Click on specific heading level template you wish to edit, and the format menu will open
  7. Make formatting changes; as required
  8. Click "Save changes"
  9. These changes will be automatically applied to any document that uses this style guide

Types of headings

  • Unnumbered headings and typically used in front matter and back matter, or informal documents such as a blog
  • Numbered headings are used in the body of business reports and other formal documents such as a book
  • Appendix headings have special numbering to indicate which "Appendix" the content belongs to. An "Appendix' is like chapter but it is providing additional, often detailed, information to the body of a report or book.
  • Titles generally appear on the cover page only

Tips

  • Generally, all paragraphs use the same font and font size
  • You can also access the active style guide when you have a document open.
  • Click the "Apps" icon to open the wizard.
